Lower Sixth Subject Choices

Lower Sixth Subject Choices

Welcome to the Subject Choices information for pupils commencing Lower Sixth in September 2021.

We are delighted to be able to give you a taste of what each department offers for study in the Sixth Form, whether you are looking at A level, IB Diploma or BTEC.  We have a huge selection of videos for you to browse, from each academic department and from our Academic Managers with additional information  about aspects of life in the Sixth Form at Bromsgrove.

Please first watch the introduction from the Headmaster and the Deputy Headmaster Academic, which gives an overview of what Bromsgrove offers and what our expectations are for pupils in the Sixth Form. You may then choose to watch as many presentations as you would like - we always advise students to go to more presentations than they think they are interested in; don’t just look at the subjects you already have in mind to study, look at some alternatives and arm yourself with some extra knowledge before making your subject choices.

If you need some additional information please look at the video presentations from our Academic Managers covering areas such as the difference between IB and A level and advice about choices with a particular university course in mind. If you will be new to Bromsgrove in September watch some of the videos explaining our pastoral ethos and how we can support international students with their studies.

Staff will be available from Monday 8th February for individual appointments to discuss any deeper issues and questions.

We hope you enjoy watching the talks and presentations and please do contact either your tutor or the relevant Head of Department if you need any further information. If you are not yet at Bromsgrove, please contact the Admissions team if you have any further questions, they will be able to put you in touch with the correct member of staff to answer your queries.

The full Sixth Form Choices brochure which contains full subject details and additional information about the Sixth Form at Bromsgrove can be found on this link.
