Year 1 Explore Wildlife

Year 1 had so much fun exploring wildlife at Lower Smite Farm in the glorious sunshine.

After listening to a story about The Extraordinary Gardener, the children explored the different colours and smells in the sensory garden and created colourful pictures.

Learning how wheat grows, exploring wheat seeds and using a quern stone to grind the seeds was fascinating.

The children completed an experiment to find the best place to plant wheat seeds.

A wonderful walk was had in the wildlife garden where the children completed a tally chart of the different flowers.

The children are excited to see which flowers will grow from the seed bombs they made.
