Senior House Music Competition

On Tuesday we were treated to a wonderful array of musical talent in a revised House Music Competition. Two rounds took place throughout the day: the Ensemble Category saw fifty-five performers taking part and we heard performances from each House by varied groups including vocal ensembles, piano duets and trios as well as a ‘world premiere’ performance of an Argentine Tango for three violins and bass clarinet.

The Solo Category in the evening was equally well attended and featured eleven excellent soloists.

Both categories were fiercely contested and were won by Lupton’s Jazz Band (Ensemble) and French horn player Joshua Osborn-Patel (Lupton) in the Solo Category. A fantastic spirit was seen in all performances, and we look forward to next year’s competition in our new facility.
