Orchard Tree Planting

Orchard Tree Planting

Posted: 17/10/2016

All three sections of the School community came together with the grounds department today, Monday 17th October, to plant an orchard on the Prep School site.

Within the orchard, fifty trees will be planted over the next two years, mixing apples, plums and pears of different varieties. The orchard will help to maintain the old varieties of fruit trees and will hopefully encourage wildlife back into this area of the School.

The organisation 'Helping Britain Blossom' states that 'Orchards have played an important role in our communities for hundreds of years... they are fantastic places for people to come together. They also promote the health benefits of fresh produce and outdoor exercise, improving wellbeing".

We look forward to promoting the benefits of our own Orchard to pupils, and watching it grow for many years to come.
