ESSA National Final

On Saturday, 20th November 2021, four of our Year 8 boys represented the Preparatory School at the prestigious English Schools' National Swimming Finals at the London Aquatic Centre.

The quartet of Oliver C, Henry F, James H and Andrei T came fourteenth in the medley relay and ninth in the freestyle relay, where they just missed out on breaking a twenty-six year School record by a second.

In the freestyle relay, we moved up six places from where we had qualified back in October. When the points for both relays were added together, Bromsgrove finished the day in eighth position overall, which is a superb achievement given that the competition is open to every single school in England.

The venue of the 2012 London Olympics is very inspiring and it was fabulous that our School were represented at such a special national event. Swimmers who will be representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland in future Olympic Games would have been competing here. A big well done to our swimmers and a huge thank you to all the parents who support our pupils at these events throughout the year.
