Bromsgrove Preparatory School pupils enjoyed an afternoon of poetry and music in a recorded performance in Routh Hall.
Three musicians were chosen from each year group out of 103 entries. The standard this year was particularly high and a wide variety of instruments represented. The winners demonstrated their talent through the presentation of most engaging performances.
For the celebration of poetry, there were three categories: the Poetry Recital competition, the Poetry Composition challenge and the Worcestershire Young Poet Laureate competition. It was very difficult for the staff to choose the final performers due to the high standard of oral performance and written composition. In fact, two of our performers at the Poetry Festival were runners up in the Worcestershire Libraries Young Poet Laureate competition.
