Economics Success

Jakob K and Sasha F have reached the National Final of the Economics Olympiad, placing them in the top twenty-five of all students in the country. They will now compete for a chance to represent the UK at the international finals in Azerbaijan.



In addition, Bromsgrove students successfully participated in the Economics IEO Winter Challenge. This is an international competition with entries from sixty-six countries. Students were required to individually complete assessments in general economic theory and financial literacy, then prepare a group presentation on a business case study. The focus for the presentation this year was on a business called Edventures; students were tasked with looking into making entrepreneurship more accessible.

Impressively, Max B finished 20th in the world and was awarded a gold medal. His teammates - Sasha F, Gleb S and Arsenii C - were all placed in the top 4% and awarded silver medals.
