The Role of the PA
1. To raise funds for projects, equipment and special events to enrich pupil learning and benefit the school community as a whole.
2. To represent the views of the parents to the Prep Headmaster during PA meetings, plus Bromsgrove School Headmaster and School Governors when required.
3. To organise social events to enable new and existing Prep School parents to meet and have a point of contact within the School.
The PA Committee
The PA Committee is elected at the AGM which is held in September. The elected Committee plus a small team of members organise and run events for both parents and children throughout the school year. These range from a Christmas shopping event, supporting Harvest Festival and school photos, hosting a Parents' Brunch, running a Macmillan coffee morning and cake sale plus raffles and other fund raising initiatives.
A small example of some of the projects the PA have funded over the last couple of years are 24 laptops for DT, Stressbox programme, theatre trips, green screen filming equipment, boot bags for sports tours, a greenhouse for Forest School, concourse benches, outdoor playtime equipment plus ice creams for all children in the summer term.
Forthcoming Events and Information
The latest news and information on PA events, current fundraising plus meeting dates are included in the school weekly newsletter and are also on the noticeboard in Maple Hall. PA meetings are also listed on the School iSams calendar.
Volunteers are always welcome (and often needed!) to help with the smooth running of events. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, join our volunteer list, and have some fun along the way, then please contact the PA Chair, Kate Gallimore on preppa@bromsgrove-school.co.uk
