Dear Oakley Parents and Guardians

As your daughters begin their journeys home, it is time not only to reflect on the past fortnight but also on the past sixteen weeks. They should be very proud of themselves for completing their first full term at Bromsgrove School.

In Routh Assembly last week, the Headmaster told us about 120 Bromsgrove Students who participated in the Bebras Computational Thinking Competition.  This is a difficult competition, especially in the sixth form category.  Following on from this, 17 students have qualified for the Oxford University Computing Challenge due to their outstanding results in the Bebras. The stand out student for the L4 was Daniella!

Bromsgrove hosted the District Badminton Tournament with many local schools in attendance The following Oakley girls received gold medals: Avanti, Elana, Tanvi, Ava, Kotryna, Darya and Winnie.

And congratulations again to Daniella and Ava who helped us secure first place in the recent House table tennis competition – another trophy for our cabinet!

In Mark Reading Sophia Mills was congratulated for her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and she also collected the Senior House Hockey plate.

And we were also thrilled to be the first recipients of a whole School award for engagement and consistent high grades across the term. Each term, the House with the best grades overall for engagement will be awarded with a trophy to acknowledge their hard work. You can imagine how thrilled we were when Oakley came out top of all 12 Houses. Well done girls!

Yesterday was our end of term assembly in Oakley House and it was lovely to celebrate a term of hard work and many successes:

Most Commendations: Tatiana and Kalash
Tutees of the term: Avanti, Alice, Winnie, Kalash, Veronika, Ashna, Phoebe and Kamilla
House Ties: Tatiana, Daniella and Kerron
House Colours: Ayushma, Bernice T, Lina, Ashna and Karis

The girls enjoyed watching a video highlight montage and then they swapped presents in our Secret Santa.
Here are a selection of photos from our Christmas Party:

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas break and I look forward to welcoming your daughters back in 2024.
