Global Voices Street Party

The grand finale of this academic year’s ‘Global Voices’ was celebrated in the sunshine with a Street Party lunch at Prep School with food from Thailand, China, Russia and Japan.
‘Global Voices’ was launched in September in the Pre-Prep and Prep schools. It is an initiative to celebrate and learn about global languages and the rich cultural diversity of the world and that of Bromsgrove School.
Every half term though out the year, we have taken a different language as a focus and learnt words, facts, done activities related to that language and had food from that culture. We have learnt about Japanese, Thai, Russian and Chinese this year.
‘Global Voices celebrates bilingualism and broadens the horizons of the monolingual students, the children have been inspired to learn different languages and shown curiosity and interest in other cultures. Promoting respect and understanding across cultures and languages really helps the children on their journey to become global citizens’.
