U13A Rugby 7's Tournament

On Thursday afternoon the U13A Rugby 7's team started off their  campaign by becoming runners up in our home tournament. In a very competitive final we were edged out by Warwick School 12-17. This will give them great confidence ahead of forthcoming tournaments at Millfield School and the world renowned Rosslyn Park in London.#

Following on from this, the boys played in their second tournament within three days attending the Packwood 7's near Shrewsbury.

This was another outstanding effort from the squad as the results will testify. In the group stages Bromsgrove defeated Abberley Hall, Terra Nova Prep and King Williams from the Isle of Man. This put them into the quarter finals, defeating Moor Park. The semi final was to see one of the best come backs in Bromsgrove rugby history, as at half-time Bromsgrove were losing 17-0. With an outstanding second half effort the team managed to overcome the score and ran out 19-17 winners against Kirkham Grammar School for the second time in three days.

Unfortunately this took a lot out of the team and they could not sustain the effort level into the final against a very powerful Sedbergh school, who are considered as one of the outstanding rugby schools in the country.

A great effort was put into the last two tournaments, and they have much to take away and learn from for the forthcoming matches.
