National IAPS Swimming

Despite the 5.00am wake up call, the boys made the annual pilgrimage to the National IAPS swimming finals on Saturday at K2 sports complex, Crawley, West Sussex.
First up were the U10 4 x 25 metres medley relay team comprising of William P, Oliver D, Beau V-H and Bobby R. The boys swam superbly and finished in ninth position overall, only a second and a half outside the School record set nine years ago by members of last year's U18 NatWest rugby winning team. What is encouraging is that half the team will still be U10s for next year's competition given that Beau and Oliver are still only in Year 4.
Individual swimmers were as follows:
U10 25 metres butterfly
Beau V-H finished 10th overall and not only broke his own U9 School record but also the U10 School record, which is something Mr Jones or Mr Camden can't recall they have seen before.
U12 25 metres butterfly
William B finished in 12th position overall in a new PB time.
U12 50 metres freestyle
Cyrus P finished in 11th position overall in a new PB time
U13 50 metres breaststroke
Oliver B (making his fifth consecutive appearance at these finals, some record) finished in 16th position overall
U13 50 metres backstroke
Sebastian P finished 7th fastest overall in the heats and maintained that position when finishing in 7th position in the final.
Many congratulations to our swimmers and a big thank you to all our parents not only for their support on the day but throughout the year taking the children to numerous training sessions.
